TRAINING ANNEX: A TITLE: COMMON SUBJECTS OBJECTIVE: With assistance and supervision given applicable technical publications, necessary tools and equipment, the student will use maintenance publications, DA Form 2404/5988-E, tools, and test measurement and diagnostic equipment. The student will demonstrate competency in basic knowledge and skills, shop safety, maintenance policies and procedures, and physical fitness required for successful completion of the course. ACDEMIC HOURS: 30.0 LESSON NO: 45T-A-0l TITLE: COURSE INTRODUCTION In a classroom environment, given a TV tape and conference instruction, the student will explain the duties and responsibilities of a system turret mechanic in accordance with applicable references. The explanation will include job description, course operations, and chain of command. LESSON NO: 45T-A-02 TITLE: SHOP SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE DISCIPLINE In a classroom environment, given a TV tape and conference instruction, the student will define shop safety, combat vehicle safety, and maintenance discipline in accordance with applicable references. LESSON NO: 45T-A-03 TITLE: STRUCTURE AND MISSION OF MAINTENANCE UNITS In a classroom environment, given a TV tape and conference instruction, the student will describe the structure of units to which he may be assigned, the responsibilities the student will have in the unit, and the relationship of his unit with support maintenance units, in accordance with applicable references. LESSON NO: 45T-A-04 TITLE: ELECTRICAL AND LASER SAFETY (DEA) In a classroom environment, given a TV tape and conference instruction, the student will identify electrical and laser safety requirements in accordance with applicable references. In addition, the student will describe directed energy, to include directed energy warfare, and how to react in an electromagnetic energy environment. LESSON NO: 45T-A-05 TITLE: MECHANICAL GEAR TRAIN In a classroom environment, given a TV tape and conference instruction, the student will describe the purpose and functions of common gears and gear arrangements in accordance with applicable references. LESSON NO: 45T-A-06 TITLE: INTRODUCTION TO TEST, MEASUREMENT AND DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT (TMDE) In a classroom/shop environment, given applicable TMDE and references, the student will explain the basic operations of TMDE in accordance with the references. LESSON NO: 45T-A-07 TITLE: TECHNICAL PUBLICATIONS In a classroom environment, given maintenance technical manuals, parts manuals and lubrication orders, the student will locate and identify maintenance information and repair parts in accordance with applicable references. LESSON NO: 45T-A-08 TITLE: BASIC ELECTRONICS In a classroom/shop environment, given applicable references, the student will describe basic electronic terms and principles, units of measure, electrical schematics and schematic symbols in accordance with the references. LESSON NO: 45T-A-09 TITLE: EXAMINATION AND CRITIQUE In a classroom/shop environment, given examination materials, applicable references, equipment and tools, the student will complete a comprehensive examination covering information taught within previous lessons. Students must achieve a minimum score of 70 percent on the written test and a GO on all performance tasks. LESSON NO: 45T-A-l0 TITLE: CALIBER 50 M2 HB MACHINE GUN In a classroom/shop environment, given necessary tools, equipment and references, the student will disassemble, inspect, service, assemble the Caliber 50 M2 HB machine gun in accordance with the references. In addition, the student will adjust the headspace and timing of the Caliber 50 M2 HB machine gun. LESSON NO: 45T-A-1l TITLE: LEGAL AWARENESS AND OPERATIONAL TECHNIQUES In a classroom environment, given conference instruction, the student will explain the Army's Command Information, Standards of Conduct, Opposing Forces, and Operational Security programs (as they apply to the soldier) in accordance with applicable references. LESSON NO: 45T-A-12 TITLE: PHYSICAL READINESS In a classroom environment, given conference instruction, the student will explain the Army's policies on health and personal life-style behavior, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Health Benefits Awareness, Suicide Prevention and Tobacco Usage in accordance with applicable references. In addition, the student will be able to able to associate total fitness concepts with their own individual health standards, describe the major components of total fitness, and recognize how to coordinate with agencies in the military community to improve individual fitness. |
